“Dropped my Macbook and it refused to boot again. DiskEng were recommended to me by a friend. A big thank you for returning all my important photos and documents.”
Ms T Macdonald, Self-employed, Worcester
We received a Macbook at our laboratory in Oxford from Worcester, which contained a 2TB Samsung Spinpoint M9T laptop hard disk drive. An examination of the drive revealed that the impact had caused the drive motor spindle to be damaged.
Our hardware engineers were able to rebuild the drive in order to overcome the problem. Our hardware specialists were then able to secure a sector by sector image of the drive which contained about a thousand unreadable bad sectors encountered during the imaging process.
An examination of the sector-by-sector image copy of the by our data recovery specialists revealed a 2TB HFS Plus volume containing approximately 1.1TB of data. Although there was some damage to the file system caused by the bad sectors encountered during the imaging process, it was confined to Mac OSX system files. All the required photos and documents were recovered intact and returned to the customer.
