Seagate Personal Cloud Home Media Storage, was released in January 2015, with two types available. The Seagate Personal Cloud, contains a single hard disk drive, with 3 capacities 3TB, 4TB and 5TB. The Seagate Personal Cloud 2-Bay system, uses two hard disk drives, giving capacities of 4TB, 6TB and 8TB, which are configured as a mirrored pair, to provide redundancy. These can be attached to a network through gigabit ethernet, providing file access for all Windows and Mac OSX computer systems.
Seagate Personal Cloud is aimed at the home user market, providing automatic backups, and the ability to attach to cloud service providers allowing for local copies of data to be maintained.
