Overheated Hard Disk Drive Derby

“One morning my Mac wouldn’t boot. After many phone calls the advice was to call DiskEng, who proved extremely helpful. Many thanks for returning my documents and photos.”

A 2TB Western Digital hard disk drive arrived at our laboratory in Oxford from Derby. An examination of the drive revealed damage to the controller board due to overheating. Our hardware engineers were able to overcome this damage in order to get the drive working.

Our hardware data recovery engineers took a sector-by-sector image copy of the hard disk drive which contained approximately 100 unreadable bad sectors which were encountered during this process.

An examination of the image by our data recovery specialists revealed an HFS Plus data volume of 2TB in size containing approximately 800GB of assorted data files, including the required documents and photos.
